Frequently Asked Questions
DOES YOUR OFFICE OFFER SECOND OPINIONS FOR TREATMENT?
Yes, second opinions are free unless we need to take supporting x-rays. If you have existing xrays, please arrange to have them emailed to us or bring them with you for your appointment.
DO YOU ACCEPT NEW PATIENTS?
Yes, we welcome new patients from ages 3 and up. Please call our office to schedule a comprehensive new patient exam. If you have recently had x-rays taken at another dental office, please have them emailed to us, or bring them with you for your initial appointment.
DO YOU ACCEPT MY INSURANCE?
We accept most dental insurances. Please call our office to see if we are in network with your dental plan. We do not accept Mainecare or Medicare at this time.
WHAT SERVICES ARE PERFORMED AT MY INITIAL VISIT?
We will do a complete review of your medical history and take necessary X-rays which are all digital for low exposure. An oral cancer screening, periodontal probing and TMJ screening are also performed. An intraoral camera is used to take pictures. A comprehensive exam will be done by the dentist, who will provide you with a treatment plan that addresses your dental needs. Many times there are treatment options and the dentist will review the pros and cons associated with those options. Please call us if you have further questions regarding the new patient exam.
WHAT AGE DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR MY CHILD’S FIRST DENTAL VISIT?
Ideally, your child should be seen by the dentist by their 1st birthday for an easy oral screening, at no charge. This helps them get used to the dental office, and to do so annually until they are old enough for their first cleaning which is approximately 3 years of age.
DO YOU SEE DENTAL EMERGENCIES?
Yes, in most instances. We will do our best to have you seen the day you call to get you comfortable as quickly as possible.
HOW SOON CAN I GET AN APPOINTMENT?
We generally have openings available for new patients within a week of your contact with us for comprehensive exams and x-rays. Emergencies will be scheduled as soon as possible, as the schedule permits, depending on the nature of the emergency.
DO YOU DO EXTRACTIONS?
Yes, we can extract teeth with a local anesthetic. Difficult extractions and wisdom teeth may be referred to an oral surgeon’s office.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PAYMENT PLANS?
Payment is expected the day of your service. We accept most dental insurance plans, with deductibles and copayments due the day of treatment. We also offer CareCredit which has a no interest option. Please call our office for more information.
